Individual and Couples Psychotherapy Fees
Payment is due at the time of service. Payments for psychotherapy may be made by check payable to Michelle M. May, LPC, LLC. Michelle is not a participating provider with any insurance programs. She does not accept Venmo or other similar payment methods as they are not yet HIPAA compliant.
Initial sessions for both couples and individuals are a minimum of two clinical hours. For all following sessions, one hour or longer are available for individual sessions and two hours or more are available for couples sessions. Let Michelle know if you are interested in “block therapy”, which are sessions that are 3 hours or more. This is ideal for someone coming from out of town, has issue arranging regular child care, or is interested. At times, a sliding scale fee spot may be available. Please let her know if you are interested in the sliding fee spot.

Insurance Information
Michelle is an out-of-network provider, however as a Licensed Professional Counselor her fees are almost always partially reimbursed through your insurance. It is your decision whether to submit to your insurance provider for reimbursement. Each time you have a session, the fee is paid upfront and if you choose, Michelle will provide you with appropriate paperwork to submit to your insurance company. Prior to your first session, it is recommended that you contact your insurance company and inquire about out-of-network benefits. It is important to ask if you have mental health benefits, the amount of your deductible and if any of it has been met, the reimbursement rate, how many sessions they help cover, and how they prefer to accept claims.
Consultative Supervision Fees
Individual Consultative Supervision
Individual consultative supervision fees are the same as psychotherapy fees. However, Michelle has a sliding scale fee available for some who are not able to pay full fee. Please ask Michelle if there is availability for a sliding scale fee. One, two, or three hours are available. While she is a state-approved supervisor by the state of Virginia, Michelle is not currently accepting any pre-licensed clinicians for supervision hours that count toward licensure.

Group Consultative Supervision
To inquire about group consultative supervision fees, please email Michelle at maymichellem@gmail.com and provide your desired number of participants, frequency, and duration of time slot (one or two clinical hours).
